How to Create a Pollinator-Friendly Garden to Attract Bees and Butterflies

To support the local ecosystem and watch lovely bees and butterflies, it is interesting to create a pollinator-friendly garden. Begin with selecting various types of native plants that will bear flowers at different times in the season, thus providing constant food supply for the pollinators. Plant a variety of plants, in terms of color, shape, and smell in order to benefit as many species as possible. Do not use pesticides in your garden but rather go for organic farming methods. Offer a small water pool, for instance, a birdbath or a dish of stones with water at the surface. Do not mow or till during the flowering period of plants that provide food for insects; avoid using pesticides; leave patches of bare ground for ground-nesting bees and allow leaves to remain on the ground for overwintering insects. Including these elements will ensure that you develop an environment in your own backyard that is conducive for the pollinators.
